PASTOR JEFF L. COOPER
Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Pastor Cooper moved to Edmond, Oklahoma with his family during high school. He attended Edmond Memorial High School, where the Lord allowed him to excel both academically and athletically. He continued his academic and athletic pursuits at Washington University (Missouri) where he
would earn numerous football team and individual accolades, including Team Captain, Consensus All American
and also earned Campus Wide Chancellor Leadership Award and the college student athlete of the year award in
1992.
It was during his junior year when Pastor Cooper sensed a call to ministry and developed a passion for God's
word. During this time he began teaching bible study at a local church. After graduating from college, he pursued
a professional career working as a corporate trainer for companies such as Eli Lilly, Merck and Bristol Myers-
Squibb and as a business and training development consultant. Pastor Cooper also served in numerous
capacities in ministry leadership that spans 25 years and includes new ministry development, leadership development, curriculum development, teaching, preaching, coaching, facilitation and training. Most recently, he served full time as Executive Pastor/COO of Bible-Based Fellowship Church, a mega church in Tampa, Florida, where he provided oversight of all operations, personnel and ministries. Prior to this position, he served as Pastor of Discipleship Coaching and the Single Adult Ministry at Northeast Bible Church in Plano, Texas. Pastor Cooper currently serves as the lead and founding pastor of Community Builders Church in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He continues to serve other churches and faith-based, nonprofit organizations through his people and leadership development company, Building People First.
Pastor Cooper has a genuine passion to see people transformed at the heart level. We were made for community— relationship with God and with each other. This takes place through equipping and empowering people to grow in Christ, tearing down the walls that separate or divide 'church' and 'city ' and pointing others to Christ. It is in community, where together we can change and grow strong in following Jesus.
Pastor Cooper holds a bachelor's degree in Marketing from the John M. Olin School of Business at Washington University (Missouri) and a master's degree from Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS) with an emphasis in Christian Leadership.
